I got out Sunday & did some relic hunting. I found a trash pit i think. Its in a Confederate camp we've been hunting for years. I found the round thing at about two feet deep in with potery & china pieces. Im going to dig it out someday soon. Hopefully some nice reb relics down in it.

Way to go buddy .. hopefully there is a 1861 D gold dollar at the bottom !!
 
Always remember higher ranking officers in the cw ate off China.
Enlisted men and poor officers ate off of tin ware.
High ranking officers always had significant numbers of troops with them.
Broken 1800's China is a good sign.
 
Those are some nice finds. The brass piece kinda reminds me of the top of a flag pole. I hope you find a lot of stuff when you dig it out. Congratulations
