Im hoping someone can help me ID this button. I dont find many so I dont have a clue where to start. Im in the foothills of gold rush county so I initially thought it was Chinese in origin, but searches got me nowhere. I did find a Celtic button with this style of dragon on pinterest but it had no info whatsoever.

I gently cleaned the back with a small wooden dowel to get some crud off and then gave it the H2O2 treatment and revealed a partial backmark but after staring at it for hours last night and this morning...i cant make it out.

Thanks in advance because I know someone here can ID it.

Looks like an 1800s livery button. They were worn on the formal dress clothes of male servants at a family estate. Sometimes they are the family crest, but mostly they are animals, including mystical creatures like dragons/serpents.
