Pretty typical of most people who aren't into the hobby. Most people look down at anyone who goes out to metal detect. It's sad but that's just the way it is I guess.

I agree with Oklahunter--the day I read a newspaper story that gets excited about MDing is the day I start to worry.

That reporter is probably one of the hundreds of locals who all get out at 6am to let their dog crap on the beach. No one writes articles on them though. Oh well, the less people in this hobby, the more finds for us, right?
