Any one in North Florida

I'm in NW FL and pretty new, but if you get over in my neck of the woods, hit me up. I've beeped most of the parks in my county, but Escambia has tons of parks and a ton of history.

Hey Stevepcola,There are a lot of hunters in your neck of the woods,Im in Tallahassee but every now and then I do go over to your area your a good 3 to 4 hrs from me. Look up Florida group 5, we do have hunts any where from Orlando, Gainesville,Pensacola any where in the Panhandle. I ll try to get over that way in a few months but do check out Florida hunt 5 you may find someone local. Good luck and Happy Hunting. Jon

Can’t get much farther in NE Florida than Fernandina Beach. Retired LEO, former Marine and avid dirt fisher. I have been hunting off an on 40+ years. Mostly beach hunting but I prefer older sites looking for silver coins. Looking to find others interested in Civil war era relics and older coins. On my bucket list of course would be a gold coin. New to site so good luck hunting to all.

Jaycee113 I am not in N FLA currently but I will be in the area in Mid March between Jacksonville and Gainesville area... I will also be staying in the St Augustine beach area and plan on detecting as well. Perhaps if you're around we could meet up and give it a go.

Also, welcome to the forum!

I’m in Jax as well. But I do travel to VA, SC NC and GA regularly. I hunt mostly downtown Jax during the week. I’m off work tomorrow and hitting Green Cove. Hit me up sometime.

Panama City Beach area here.. Although we have world's most beautiful beaches I still prefer dirt.. something about finding old relics/coins!

Sorry so late in responding, have been family matters and traveling . I would certainly like to meet up sometime. I prefer old coins to new ones also. The weather should be breaking in the north in the next month and I am hoping to do some dirt fishing! Nothing better than holding some history, unless maybe a gold coin. Anyway I am retired so pretty much open to doing some detecting, keep me in mind. Nice talking with you. My name is Jim.

I will be in Gulf Breeze near Pensacola Beach in a couple of days and am wondering how the beach hunting there is. Does anyone know? Any place on Pensacola beach off limits?
TIA

I beeped Pcola Beach east of the fishing pier for 4 hours yesterday. Found a junk ring, a sterling Pandora clip on charm, two sterling stud earrings, and 94 coins. It is hit and miss. Some days I find things other than coins, sometimes nothing but coins.

Best advice is to get out as early as possible. I started at 0500 yesterday and there were already 2 other beepers out there. Saw maybe 4 more through the morning. It is also cooler, before the sun gets high. Once it's up, there is nowhere to hide from it.

You can beep anywhere on Casino Beach (stay off of any dunes with sea oats growing on them). Going east, you can beep a bit east of Portofino, where the National Seashore (or whatever they call it) begins. Going west, you can beep slightly west of Chickenbone Beach, which is the last parking area before you enter Ft. Pickens. So anywhere in between is fine.

If you start a bit later, you will see the sand rake operating on Casino beach--the beach on the sound side is also raked every morning--don't think that the rake gets all of the good stuff. It really only gets large stuff and maybe chains. I beep the raked sand and find stuff all of the time.

Thanks Steve.
I lived in Milton about 10 years ago prior to moving to Iowa. I didn’t start detecting until 4 years ago so I’ve never detected in the area.
My wife’s cousin lives on Soundside Dr. east of Garçon Point Walmart so I’ll hit the sound behind her house.

Definitely a !!!! shoot hitting the sound side. Probably something happened there in the historical past, but you probably won't find anything interesting. Not being pessimistic...just realistic.

There are some soccer fields just east of and behind the Publix, which is just east of that Walmart. Beeped that place, um, two, maybe three times. Always lots of targets, and I have never found a ring there. Hit that place also. With the local demographic, there has to be some good finds there.

Milton to Iowa...that is quite a change!

A lot of houses were washed into the sound during hurricane Ivan, hers and her neighbors included so I thought I’d look around there a bit.

She’s got a cousin or two that lives in East Hill, maybe I can get a permission to hunt there.

I started out in Corpus Christi so I lived along the gulf coast most of my life, yes, Iowa was a big change. The winters are cold but the summers are so nice.
