Whoever decided to make a belt or necklace or whatever back in the day better be glad that the gold gilding had worn off when I dug it! It was green and crusty before I brass-brushed it. Yes, there are differences to a gold dollar, but not enough to notice in the first few seconds! You, whomever you are, are on notice!

(I learned about these Victorian decorative belts after finding a New York Excelsior button that had strange attachment points... after giving it to the property owner, I had to go back and tell him it actually wasn't a war bring-back from his great grandfather......)
