Found two civil war button first for me today!

I hunted a 1787 field site today and found my first Infantry button and a Confederate officers coat button that is sadly missing the back:(

Your button would have had an iron back, but that's OK in this case. Page 356+ of Albert's button book shows a few of the Confederate local buttons. A big time find, nice going.

I was told by a couple of different people that it’s a W. Dowler imported button. Ty very much!

Any Confederate button found anywhere on any day in any condition is a great find anyway!!! CONGRATS!!!!!
