I’m doomed...er, hooked. This hobby is just too freakin’ fun! I have never enjoyed taking out the trash quite this much! After a couple of hours, I started to get the hang of telling the difference between coins and pull tabs, though I dug everything for practice. I present to you...the haul.

The bullet will be going off to the police station in the a.m. as I don’t have an armory to store it.😁

Looks like a good hunt to me, and personally I show all my finds trash included otherwise it is hard to say what you are discriminating out and helps to date the location.

The pull tabs you found are 1980s or newer, and not a single old pull tab in the mix. In that regard the park has added fill in recent years or simply been pounded by other detectors.

Besides practice, digging bad targets will help you find other targets that are likely hidden below as the trash was masking them. If you work an area in sections removing all targets, afterwards crank the gain/sensitivity to maximum and turn off discrimination and listen for faint tones and dig. That is where headphones come in handy, and if you don't have any you should get them. Often some great finds can be found this way at parks, especially around the property edge. Most others when detecting will move on if they are getting lots of trash signals, so there is often some good finds left below.

Glad your having funny and getting out there, and I hope to be soon myself once I get my gear sorted. HH
