Got out and found 3 silver.Didnt have my phone to take pics but nothing was more than 6 inches,except one crusty zinc,I have no ispdea how that thing got so deep? It was like 8or 9 inches.
The slq had me feeling good and then I got the merc.I usually use my phone to blow up a picture on site so I can see the date,But no phone and I coulda swore it said 1916,so the hunt was over right then and there.Got home,it’s a slick wore 1918.Oh well,maybe another time.

Nice Silver finds! I had the same thing happen to me a while ago, dug up a Merc Dime with a somewhat worn date, looked like it might have been 1916 or 1919, and had the "D" mintmark! Back at the car with my reading glasses on, it turned out, of course, to be the 1919-D!

Thanks trapper,yeah it was a lot of digging but a lot of fun too.Had a old guy tag along in his late 80s,he had a good time too,and was amazed on how ez the coins were to find.

Etrac,,but it's a heavy beast for this time of year,,hot enough without needing the added weight.lol.Sure is nice for tones and ID tho

That was a good detecting day. Healthy silver report and all. I dug a 1919 merc too, yesterday. I was hot and sweaty, so it made me think of 1919 rootbeer. :lol:
