I'm posting this here, as opposed to the Family Forum, to be sure others see it, since they post their "pains" here.

Listen-up all you geezers, I read all these "my toe hurts", "I got a hangnail", "it hurts when I kneel" threads, so I'm here to save the day :D

First-off, pain is just weakness leaving your body ;)

Now do a web search for "self myofascial release", go to SprawlMart and get the rollers, I bought 3 today:

I have a severely atrophied leg (quad area), and after deciding I was going to do something the Orthopedic Geniuses couldn't, make "me" better (going almost 10 years back).

I spent about an hour working on my leg today, and I'll admit, it was painful. All the muscles feel like a bundle of sticks, I could feel it as I rolled them, they would rebound, like rolling a tennis ball over a handful of 1" sticks.

Currently, a few hours later, 75% of the soreness (from manipulating) is gone, and I can already tell a difference in the way the muscles in my leg feel. I also know it will take a lot more work to try to get things broke-loose to even resemble anything "normal", then I can concentrate on trying to build-up all the muscle mass gone from that leg. It's 2.5" smaller than my left leg.

So don't live with what's ailin' you, and look for alternatives that don't require a prescription. The medical field doesn't make money by fixing people in a quick manner.

Have you tried seeing a massage therapist? They might have some better input on what would work (and/or actually be able to fix it for you) than a doctor.

MFR does seem to work wonders, though. Have tried it myself a couple of times.

Thanks for letting us geezers in on this. It's good to hear first hand of something that works for something.

I worked on my leg again this AM, and was surprised how different my muscles felt already. Kind of tender now, because I got my thumbs into things pretty good, so I'm going to give it a couple days and go after it again.

Used to weekly, but why pay now for something I can do myself. I cut my own hair, rolled my own smokes (when I smoked), I can do the MFR myself too. ;)
