Found this old signet ring at my local lake. Was very deep, rang up like a 1oz fishing weight. I'm guessing it was made in the 1940s but figured I'd get some other opinions. Makers mark is small and hard to make out.

Also threw in a couple bonus pics of how it looked when I found it. Was pretty stained up but polished up beautifully.

Without a makers mark, it would be tough to pinpoint a date. They still make similar signet rings, obviously yours doesnt appear to be modern though. Looks HEAVY! Congrats on the gold!!!

Thanks all for the great replies! Was super stoked to find it, really been trying hard this year to get my first gold signet ring. To add a little more detail the ring used to have some light etching throughout most of it, but most of it has worn off. This is about a good of a picture as I can get of the hallmark and makers mark. That little bit of mud is just wedged in there and hard to get out.

Very Nice!!

That is 18k not 10k one nub is clean at bottom of 8 I see one not cleaned at top of 8 .... you should have posted this in beach forum we would have helped you out there...

I agree with Craig, 18k... the top part of the 8 is smaller then the bottom. Hallmark ... I would say a Crown.. or "W"

I think your close on the dating.. I would say 30's to 40's.. Have to look thru some of my pictures.

I had originally thought the same thing, but was unsure because it didnt look as orange and my other 18k rings. I took it in to get it tested and it tested as 10k. I think the hallmark is kinda botched. Also I remember seeing hiluxyota on YouTube saying that the 10k rings are more likely to come out stained after being in the water for 50+ years but usually 14k and 18k will come out mostly clean.
