Default Pristeen

Wanted to post something spectacular today after an excessively long scout over an old gold panning site I’ve located in Shasta CA, but nevertheless I’ve succumbed to the realism of metal detecting.

Aside from a haul of pull tabs, degraded iron, melted lead, vintage vegetable oil caps, 20 gauge shotgun shells, square nails. I did however come across a very interesting target (if you can call it that) that might bring y’all a few giggles.

The target rang up as a 25-27 on the nox, initially thought it might be a quarter, or something with a bit of silver content…. Eagerly I dug it up, the piece was so heavily covered in a dirt patina that I assumed it might be some sort of co2 cartridge and sadly dropped it into my pouch.

Afterwards, I’m back at base camp cleaning up my forsaken gleamingly finds when I finally get to this mysterious co2 cartridge.

After swabbing the poop deck, I discover the company, and a few bits of description of what the products purpose was. I’ve attached the original ad from the museum archive on feminine hygiene from 1969.

Hope this helps those of us that aren’t pulling up, coppers, silvers, jewelry, and gold coins, every day.

Keep it realistic!!

Straight, but granted that it’s the late 1960’s we’re talking about, the iud will probably be constructed of lead and made by Marlboro. 😂

I believe we’re all around the 5yr-8yr old range. Age is but a mindset, my friend.

More coming tomorrow!! (Might not be as comical though, we shall see)

I always like when someone does the sleuthing work to match to their finds. But I have to say, this one is a bit .... uh .... "unusual". Eh ?
