Default Jack

I found this jack and would like to clean it more but don't want to break it. So far I've soaked it in water and was able to pick off a little rust.

I believe it would, keep your eye on it though. Wait to see what others say before trying it.

I don't have electroysis set up. Most things have cleaned up pretty well by hand.

Check out some YouTube videos. It's very easy to set one up. I've got one made from a 5 gallon bucket and I've got one for small stuff (like your jack) made from a plastic peanut butter jar.

Question

I don't think they are particularly valuable...why bother? It's junk. Bin bait. In other words, not worth the bother.

I just think it a neat trinket. Doubt I'll dig another.

Then dunk it in acid, son. Let 'er fizz for awhile, then take it out and dunk it in baking soda water to neutralize it, then rinse it off with some water. That ought to do it for ya. Enjoy yer trinket.

I think I got it to a point where it looks nice enough now I'll post an "after" picture soon.

Did you ever get an "after" picture of the jack? I just found one and I'd love to see what it looks like cleaned up.

I said the same thing, then dug another a few blocks from my first a week later.
