Colonial era tool or more recent?

Found an iron relic near a stone wall today. Seems to be some sort of tool that probably had a wooden handle at one time. The base measures 3 1/2" by 4 1/2" and has a triangular piece attached to it. Grooves with serrated blades on the bottom. Any idea as to how old and what it was used for would be appreciated.

More recent. Probably 1940's or 50's.
It's a shedding curry. They still make similar ones today.

+1 on the Curry comb and I'd have to agree it's 1900s vintage.
