Show me your injuns

Here is a couple I recovered from a grown over field/yard. Used to be houses nearby back in the late 50's. They were stuck together back to back about 3" down. Had a 22 reading on the nox. Expecting a wheatie but was nicely surprised.

The current Tribe from this year. I am very happy with the condition of (most of) these as a ton of IHPs come out toasted it seems.

After a quick rain, before the overwhelming heat and humidity, I quick-scanned a permission yard one block from home. No silvers there yet, but a few moderns, 2 wheats and this 1893.
First, I thought the one side looked like it had the fat wreath of an IH, but I couldn't tell. I rubbed a little dirt off and found the outline of the headdress on the other side. I exclaimed out loud; "it's an Indian!". Then I noticed a girl walking past me on the sidewalk, a few feet away. She had dark skin and black hair...like a "real" Indian...from India. She was looking at me, so I held up the coin, and said to her: "Indianhead penny!" She gave me a quick, kind of sour smile, and kept walking. I immediately realized that she, being maybe teenaged, has probably never heard of and Indianhead penny, and can only hope she didn't think I was mocking her or something. Oh well, I found an 1893 ONE CENT coin today! Back into air-conditioned hiding now.

Nice find, Blaise! That one has an interesting patina - especially on the reverse.

I know everyone has their favorite slang for the different common coins that are found what book from Amazon would someone suggest I order they would help me identify most of the early American coins that I would run across since I haven't had any idea what the cohens were that I've seen people finding on the YouTube videos where they're running across or coin every 5 minutes on someone's property they talked about 1700 1800s half pennies and King George's and lingo that I haven't a clue what they're talking about?

Red Book Of Coins 2021. Its on sale right now too on Amazon! Great book.

I am having my best IHP year to date so far in 2020. Actually I'm having a great year detecting so far. I have dug 6-7 IHP's so far with the oldest being a 1863. My first fatty.

These are mine. I actually have 13 total but I have given a few away to homeowners that gave me permission. I have 2 1859s that I dug at a cellar hole near my house. I included my flying eagle I found the other day just to brag again! My favorite is the two that are stuck together. Not sure if they were in a fire but it almost looks like a silver coin melted them together, which would be my luck.

Congrats on the IHPs and the flying eagle !!!!

Also congrats to all the others who found IHPs !!!!

As much as I'd like to find another silver, I wouldn't mind at all if my next really good find was an IHP instead as I'm still looking for my first IHP :D
