Thimble and a braided hair

Snuck out yesterday with a friend to an out of the way cellar hole we’ve been hitting over the last year for a few hours. Being in the woods around here right now is tough with all the briars and ferns but worst of all is the amount of spiders and webs strung up between trees but it’s getting better as fall is now here. We started in a spot where my buddy found a GW federal eagle button earlier this spring hoping there was more there. It was slow going but he managed a button and I found the thimble. We worked closer to where the old barn was and right away he hit a dandy button. Soon after I hit a 28-29 on the nox and was hoping for old silver because the signal was so perfect. Out popped a braided hair large cent and I was very glad to see her. She may not be the belle of the ball but it was good enough to get a date of 1844. That is now my 48th copper this year and my goal of 50 is getting closer. That was pretty much it except for the clad quarter I thought was going to be another copper. Happy hunting everyone
