need help identifying this brass buckle. found just outside of Gettysburg IMG_0021.jpg

I have been digging union and confederate bullets in same area. I dug 2 flying eagle pennies 1857, 1858 next to it. I also dug a toasted colonial copper next field over. I know the farm covers a few generations. this buckle is heavy and thick, appears to have had studs or tabs on the back side. thanks for any help or thoughts.

Added "civil war" to the linked search for "stirrups" and got this.

thanks, I though about the same thing. but I wasn't sure how wide they were? someone sent me this picture..... said its from an 1855 riflemans belt. ive never found a stirrup.... so wasn't sure.
