Switch blade buried deep

Found this switch blade knife a year or so ago 15in deep next to a well worn trail in the back part of a park. It was wrapped in some kind of cloth that had pretty much rotted away. Might possibly be a 1950’s c.jul herbertz picklock.

How are you identifying this? Sure would be cool to know how it got there!
 
Just saw this post... not too old to resurrect, is it?

That appears to be 1950s-60s Italian rather than German. Obviously a small one. Have you cleaned it up? More photos?

Got lots of knives never a switch blade.
I agree with callmez is does look like a 60's or early 70's Italian.

I wouldn't do anything to it until I talked to the local police. Who knows, maybe you'll help solve a cold case. That would be cool.
