I’ve had a property on my list that i was hoping to hunt because my wife had past relatives who owned it at one point. The property recently sold and theyve been working around the old house and barn, but not living there. I pass it all the time watching for someone to be there and practicing how I’ll ask in my head. Finally they were there working yesterday morning. I stopped and one of the guys was the father of the brothers who bought the place. They’re planning on restoration of the farm, but didnt have much background info on the property. All I had to do was show him a picture of the house from the early 30’s that my wife had and I was in! He was tickled that i had that and told me he was disappointed I wasnt there last fall when they demo’d 7 other old house foundations that were on the backside of the property. 110 acres of 1860’s farm. I had a fun 1st hunt there just around the main house. Got my first 19?7 wheat. I printed the picture of the house i had and got a cheap frame for it from Walmart and gave to the owner as a thank you. I think I have my work cut out. Great day, and great feeling to hear a yes on my 1st permission.
