V1.1 UPDATE

XP would like to express its gratitude to all users for providing valuable feedback following the release of version 1.0. We appreciate your input, and based on your feedback, we are pleased to introduce version 1.1:

Bug Fixes:
We have successfully resolved the issue of remote control rebooting or WS6 freezing in very rare configurations.

Other Improvements:
The FE.TID (Ferrous Target display) setting is now enabled by default. If you prefer not to display ferrous target IDs, you can turn off the FE.TID setting.
We have made corrections to the SILENCER function in programs P1, P2, P4, P5, and P6. Now, Silencer levels 0, 1, and 2 provide the same rejection as in V0.71, while higher levels from 3 offer better iron rejection. The program 3 SENSI FT uses different Silencer close to V1.0.

Notes :
- Previous versions 0.6, 0.71, and 1.0 are still available online and accessible thanks to the new updater.

- All other new functions and improvements introduced in V1.0, such as Audio Filter, Freq Max, HiSquare audio, Fulltones Offset, fast TID, etc., remain unchanged in V1.1.
We encourage you to read detailed information about these features in the documentation below and watch the video by Gary Blackwell.

Thanks SS, I feel you are a big part (if not all) of the reason for the update corrections in V1.01 and fast turn around by XP.

Thanks for the quick reply. For coins I hope similar.

Coin ID. Might be tad lower on the big bier conductors like quarters, etc.
You can compare and see for yourself.

PS.
Think I misunderstood your first question.
Iron v1.10 more in line with .71.
Coins ID about same as 1.00

I just wonder if this was a temporary patch to "calm the waters" of silencer issues and still investigating with time now back on their side. They did roll it out in record speed.

I don't think there was ever a "problem" in the first place other than a lot of people not knowing how to deal with really hot settings. All they've done is make the adjustment many of us knew how to make as factory settings. Very simple change to make it a patch. You notice the new version is v1.10 and not v1.01 This would indicate a simple change and not a fix.

As long as they didn't change how low the Silencer can go I'm good with it. If they changed the filter level of a Silencer of 0, then while I can keep using v1.0 for now, the next update XP does that has something I might want, I will also have to get the watered-down version of the base settings. That is why I was pissed about all the calls for a calmer version just because they couldn't handle a smokin detector.

I lost depth in wild and in test garden. No matter what I did with settings. I feel I’m pretty familiar with the machine have about 700 hours on it had it about a year and a half. The filters were wonky. Something was off it wasn’t anything to do with being extremely hot maybe on the falsing complaints. Also people were experiencing some freezing on the puck. It needed some adjustments and that’s the great thing about updates.

My initial results are positive. I still get falsing on deep iron but it's iffy signal. More like a chance it could be either. Diving program hits the silver in my test garden better than any of the stock
Programs.

I'm glad people are happy with it, and so am I that nothing major was done. Those same changes can be accomplished with v1.0 and making the settings adjustment people were showing, but hey, the end game is what matters right? I'm still waiting to see how many say their battery consumption is down which could only be from a reduction in power. If that be the case, then I'm stuck on v1.0 until they change it. From what I see they increased the Silencer filter back to v0.71 levels in most of the factory progs, which I had already turned up, But, in a clean open area, you want as little Silencer as possible because less Silencer = greater depth, sensitivity, and recovery speed through less filtering. Time will tell.

I agree. I’m glad to hear that 1.0 worked well for some people but something was definitely wonky with version 1.0 for me. I have hundreds of hours on the D2 and am very familiar with how to adjust the silencer. Something was/is off, and it’s not just a simple silencer setting. Gotta remember that we’re not all hunting in the same dirt with the same amount of contamination.

Some on FB that were having issues with iron falses sounding good on 1.0 say it's better on 1.1. Some saying iron that was sounding off good at 86-87 TID no longer doing that. All very fresh and subjective though, so who knows..

I guess the clock works right now though? Lol

Give it week or 2 better data from the field will be reported.

And I think that is where people were being cut down for not knowing how to use their detector. There were many posts telling them if you have FE.TID turn off, and it was by default on v1.0, you won't get the normal ferrous VDI you did with v0.71

I found a penny last night in a spot I've been over 30-40 times. It was in the hole with 3 nails. I dug every blip of a high tone or mid tone out of this location. To walk into that nail bed and get a solid high tone and VDI of 85 was impressive.

With these forward and reversing of silencer updates from XP, falsed on the nails and happened to be a penny in the hole? Just playing devils advocate.

Being someone that was not totally happy with version 0.71, I was excited to get version 1.0.

After yesterday's hunt at a magnetite, tin, and square nail laden late 1800s site I was no longer even remotely happy with 1.0. The falsing was out of this world.......

I am glad that XP issued version 1.1 because I was about ready to sell Deus 2.

The version 1.1 update for the remote and WS6 went smoothly and quickly and I am no computer whiz. I did not have to go through a pairing process with the remote and WS6. My WS6 as Slave was already paired with the remote after the update.

Let's see what happens next.

And yet another experienced Deus 2 user having issues with version 1.0. To me, this is clear evidence that there IS a problem and it's NOT a simple setting adjustment.

Well they do say exactly what was done in v1.1 and there are only two things other than some updating issues themselves.

1. The FE.TID (Ferrous Target display) setting is now enabled by default. If you prefer not to display ferrous target IDs, you can turn off the FE.TID setting.

This addresses the high VDI from iron issue that could and was done with v1.0. Frankly, this one falls under the "not knowing how to run your detector" to me. As soon as I saw I was not getting iron VDIs, I turned it on. Issue solved.

2. Corrections to the SILENCER function in programs P1, P2, P4, P5, and P6. Now, Silencer levels 0, 1, and 2 provide the same rejection as in V0.71, while higher levels from 3 offer better iron rejection. The program 3 SENSI FT uses different Silencer close to V1.0.

They lowered the silencer level in some of the presets to v0.71 levels because they were too hot for some people. This can also be accomplished by adjusting the Audio Filter and or sensitivity on v1.0. Personally, this was the one I was worried about because it actually added more depth & sensitivity.

The placebo effect: I've seen posts from users who have used the new v1.1 for a whole 3 hours and claiming it is the greatest thing since sliced bread LOL. I just saw someone say they are using SENSI FT and "it is amazing." when there was basically nothing change in the SENSI FT program.

Again, I'm happy people are happy, so far, and nothing major was changed. Before we throw a all is well party I think "Let's see what happens next."
