I cut the cable a couple months ago and have been surfing channels and dang, I'm 12 years old again. Actually 68 but the "old shows" are so much better that the crap that's on today! I think the Twilight Zone series freaked me out more than once. I love westerns and have been watching Gunsmoke, Have gun will travel, Rifleman, Rawhide, Cheyenne, Wanted Dead or Alive. Those imaginary spots would be great metal detecting areas. Alfred Hitchcock Hour was cool too. The Lassie show was the first show that brought a tear to my eyes.

Mom and Dad wouldn't let us watch the 3 Stooges after we started playing "pick 2" but I could watch them for hours. Let's hear what you can think of.

Soupy sales was one of my favorites. Combat. oh boy I’m trying to remember back. I think it was called Yukon King or something like that laugh-in, candid camera. So many more.

Soupy was a pie in the face comedian who had a show called "Lunch with Soupy", filmed in Detroit. I remember his show because it was on Saturday morning right after Captain Kangaroo and that was the only day Mom and Dad would let us watch TV for a few hours. I think Milky the Clown (DETROIT again) was on right afterwards.

So many great old shows mentioned. I always liked he old comedy shows and movies. Ma and Pa Kettle, Abbott and Costello, the Bowery Boys, Three Stooges, Munsters and of course the westerns and the war shows.

My father died in 1956. He was addicted to westerns, and I used to sit and watch shows like Have Gun Will Travel, Hopalong Cassidy, Gunsmoke, and Palladin. My shows were Sky King, Howdy Doody, Commando Cody, Soupy Sales, and Popeye. I still watch B&W shows from time to time. Twilight Zone still gets to me. I was eight years old when the movie The Ten Commandments came out.

It would be really cool to watch those shows in the period accurate TVs that were around back then. I don't think its possible though with modern air waves.

Just watched a 2 hour block of stooges’ shorts this morning. Rabbit Ear tele - Channel 50-WKBD Detroit had a lot of my favorites. The Ghoul, Bill Kennedy, Sir Graves Ghastly. Afternoon after school were the stooges, Popeye. Saturdays cartoons, my favorite was Johnny Quest.

I just remembered, and I’m hesitant to post this. You guys know I don’t like to brag. But I was told when I was a kid I did a perfect white fang imitation that would’ve made soupy sales proud.😁

Hey Chris, I have EVERY single 3 stooges film, short, or movie they ever made. I'm going to be at my campground all summer so I will get you a flash drive for your viewing pleasure. "well I oughta" "pick two" "I'm trying to think but nothing happens" " Soitenly!" stooges give me endless nights of grins and giggles

FYI the Stooges theme song was written by Septimus Winner aka Alice Hawthorne in 1854
