I wanted to pass this on, lesson learned. I was tumbling my clad to get them clean, I bought the quarter coin book and wanted to fill them in with clean shinny coins. Well my clad been coming out with a yellow green haze just looked ugly. No pennys we’re with them. Well my rocks are blue green color aquarium rocks. When I first cleaned them I had no problem. But when I added more chemicals to get them better they pick up funk.
Well I changed my rocks to pea gravel and they look great. So the mixture of chemicals caused the rocks to bleed and the coins picked it up. So the moral of the story is don’t use color rocks.

My home roadway gravel or the tot lot playground gravel has never let me down, as long as I don't mix pennies in. They are free and easy to replace. No compilation and free.

I use stainless steel bearings, a squirt of dawn dish soap, a squirt of lime away and tumble for about 45 minutes.
