With the end of June in the books, I've reached the halfway point of 2025's finds.
Detecting.....$13.38 in clad, no silver coins or jewelry......only four hunts.
Coinstar/eyeball finds.....$34.66. Includes $7.00 in paper money finds.
Bottle/can pickups.....$126.10. This number includes only the ones I find along the road or in reject containers.
Coinstar/eyeball finds are ahead of 2024's pace. Bottle and can finds are way ahead of 2024's pace. Detecting is behind 2024's pace even though 2024 was my worst year ever since I began detecting in 1983.

Chin up my man, sometimes we go through periods in life where things don't go the way we had planned. My 2025 has been one to forget. But look at the bright side, you're still out there "detecting".. Good luck!

From experience I know that things don't always go as planned......that's for sure, but my chin is definitely up because two out of the three categories of "hunting/detecting" are ahead of last year's pace. My post was definitely not complaining about my finds, it was simply a "report" of sorts.

Nice report D4C! Sounds like your totals are still good even though the detecting only totals are down. Wish we could get pesos for our aluminum cans in Idaho and Montana, tons of them are thrown out all the time.

Thank you. The state of Connecticut raised the deposit price on cans and bottles from five cents to ten cents in January of 2024 thinking that the higher fee would discourage people from throwing them all over the place. It hasn't stopped the litter one bit in my opinion. There's empty cans and bottles everywhere. When the deposit was five cents I didn't bother with them but at ten cents each, they add up fast. :money: :money: :money:
