Got up and on the road from Idaho at 5.30 am, heading toward the Seattle area for some errands and to attend an antique bottle show. I thought to try a couple of small towns on the way, then try the Kittitas Ellensburg Cle Elum WA area. My first stop was in the huge metropolis of Hooper, Washington. Population about 10. It did have a town square city park, so thought to give it a try. About 20 minutes in I had nothing but a 1944 Wheat cent. Time to hit the road. About 10 miles west was the small town of Washtucna WA. It had a decent city park... gave it about 15 minutes, no coins at all. Kept going west. Hit the Ellensburg area about 10 am, and ended up detecting for 9 hours. I got 10 yard permissions, 5 in a 1930's neighborhood, and 5 more in a 1940s neighborhood. No curb strips in this part of town. Pleasant homeowners and nice size yards. Did well. After the bottle show later in the week I thought to spend more serious time there, many more hours, and that was definitely productive, lots of coins and wheat cents!

I ended up with quite a bit of coins... 3 Merc Dimes, 3 Silver Rosies, an Oral Roberts Prayer pin, a Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen pin, a cool Real Silk aluminum thimble from Indianapolis, a Sterling Silver ring with letters LHS on top, coin from Norway, clad Bicentennial Kennedy Half, a few charms from a rusty bracelet, 57 wheat cents!, and a lot of clad dimes, clad quarters, and copper memorial cents. The general area I detected is about 5 hours from home, but hope to get back when on another road trip to Western Washington. Pictures follow, thank you for your interest!

Another good photo-spread & play-by-play. But shucks, if you're going to use back-drop for the pix, with "1883" date on it, then we expect the coins to be 1880s. Tsk tsk

Too bad the ring didn't have LTS on David, you could've worn that one. Ha ha. Another fine roadtrip. Congrats on the sterling and other silver, and all the wheats, clad and other goodies. All in all I would call that a great mixed bag hunt. Good luck

Thank you Mark! Yeah... LTS! would have been the perfect markings for that ring!
Once again, You are killing it with the silvers!! Congrats and great photos.
Thank you Kansashunter! Happy to have had a couple of good hunts!

Another "as usual" bit of detecting for you David. Congrats on all the silver. And all of the clad and wheats make my knees and back hurt just thinking about it. Your success makes my 2 silvers from yesterday seem rather insignificant. Great post.

Congrats on the silvers and Wheaties along with the other items. Thank god for the permissions some days. Best on luck on future hunts.

Thank you Gale! Yeah... there were a lot of clad quarters, dimes and copper cents, along with a load of wheaties. And for your area of Western WA 2 silvers is still darn good!

Thank you History Hound! Yes, permissions do tend to make for a chance of a successful hunt!
