I think I may have found the solution for the crappy black rubber yellow earcup attachments that break after the phones hit the floor. Called “fir tree” fasteners or zip ties. ASN B0DQQ2GRD9 on Amazon.

How’s that working for you? Are you able to adjust the cups on the headphone bracket?
A fellow detectorist had the same issue with his Whites PI Pro. I found this vid for repair using the original parts (which, of course, are going to have the same problems):
Did you replace the pads? I’m having a hard time finding the right size.

In case anyone else needs to make a Whites headphone repair, I wanted to share with you a similar alternative repair done by my buddy Jim on a barely used Whites BeachHunter ID that I was given recently. (It had belonged to a friend who passed from Covid and his ex-wife gave me his detectors and other detecting gear). His solution was similar to Bklein's. But instead of pushing in the broken piece into the headphones, causing potential rattling, he drilled into that piece using it to anchor a similar tie wrap piece picture below.
My buddy stated that "It holds really good and the adjustment clicks still work with the way the tie wrap is positioned on the head strap....."
Fantastic solution!!!
If you were to insert the cable tie into the holder rotated 180 degrees like in the first ad picture seen, it would look even neater. Then the cable tie lock would sit even closer to the headphones and not stick out so far.
