Silver & Relics, some help on the brass name plate would be welcomed

Snagged this loot from a couple of permissions. silvers, couple of IHPs, the brass nameplate, reverse letters, was interesting, backside is smooth, wasn’t able to make out first but not last name. Anyone know what these nameplates with reversed lettering were used for? Yet again this site posts my pics sideways, oh well. Thanks.

is the plate about the size of a business card? something similar would be used to print raised letters on a business card.

Ya, got the name off it too definitely used to print cards for the lady who owned it.

At the print shop I worked at there were a few around. We had to order that kind of card (thermography) from a specialty shop and they would send the plate back with the cards. We gave the customer the choice of us storing it or they could take it.
