Silver and (tiny) gold!

I searched a local walking trail. By local, I mean in my neighborhood. I found some money, including a dollar (I don't find them all that often) and an interesting token. But the stars are definitely the silver cross with the VERY thin gold chain.

The signals were weird jumping between the 90's and the mid-60's. I figured I had two targets. I pulled a plug and saw the cross. I almost just grabbed the cross out of the hole. But then I saw the super thin chain. I thought "that's gotta be gold." So I loosened up the ground around it and gently pulled it out.

This is my third gold find this year. The 16'th century Elizabeth I coin is still be evaluated by the UK government. And I returned a chunky 10K class ring to the owner after tracking him down. Still though, finding gold is cool.

I was coin shooting an abandoned baseball field last week. Everything below 75 discriminated out. Hit an 88. Turned the plug over plucked out the clad quarter, then I saw this dangling out of the plug... 14k, 5 grams. My first gold item. Just dumb luck.

Congrats on the nice finds.
I haven’t found too many gold chains in my career but I have found my share of those small dollar coins they’re always a pleasant surprise.
