Needed something quick and cheap, so stopped by the second hand store and found a rubbermaid ice scoop. A quick hit with the cordless drill and I was ready to go. Works pretty darn well and I can run it over the coil. Not the most durable, but works in a pinch.

Looks great. It this thicker than a feed scoop? Probelm I had with those is that it gets flimsy when you drill the ports.

The lower end is thicker and more robust. That is why there are only holes in the back and a couple not the sides. The top end would not hold up to losing any of the material. I noticed the rocks do take their toll on the scoop end....I'd say it's a nice cheap alternative for a part time beach goer like me. Not sure how long it'll last, but it does work.
