Actually Earl I think this new Axiom might work on the beach. It is weatherproof. If it don’t cost too much. Get one and give it a whirl. Weight seems reasonable. And don’t look complicated or takes a long time to set up.
There is a gent who just might take one to great salt lake and use. He has YouTube channel. If it performs there it surely can handle east coast salt sand.
Relics and rings is his channel I think.

Ya , this is why I am a bit sceptical , I think Garrett just wanted to try a leap into Minelabs prospecting lineup , even though it might work for the beach , the head is not waterproof , just rain, and the solid coil if in the water hunting is no good . IT will be interesting on how this machine compares to ML , out WEST

What I can tell guys who don't really hunt beaches is , deep targets suck. They will kill you if not in shape. When you start talking 18"+ in the sand , you have to expand the hole. Digging 2'+ wide and that much deep is brutal if you do it for half a day. On occasion I'm rewarded. Often times not.

Deep holes on freshwater beaches are tough. I have dug them. Hole caves in. Monster wide when you finally get down there. Add surf and or waves that ocean offers. Oh my. Not for me. Guess I’m lazy. And digging in the blind with pi. Again not for me. Hard enough on solid soil/ground to do.

I have a right ripped bicep , herniated disc, over weight , and have big scoops , every beach is not like yours , don't forget , beach replenishment sand all the time here , gold sinks deep , in the off season is when I like to run a pi , some sand removal , the Whites Surf Master PI was my favorate machine to run here in the off season , if I hunted CA, beaches it would be a VLF & PI , wonder what the guy you ran into is finding with my old DF , next time you run into him , tell him the previous owner would like to know PS tell him I don't want the shake answer just some clad coins , the real deal July and August here Kob vlf fresh drops only , if I lived in CA. I would most likely use a PI most of the time , as you tell me there are many hunters , get what they can't hear under the coil with a vlf --- with your PI .

Well I don't want to jump to conclusions. Am working with getting advice, but to put it mildly my ears are bleeding from all the noise. I'll know in a few more days.

When I met him with Compass I think he broke the tab on the headphone. He was done. Not sure if that was the maiden trip or not. Idk anymore about it. We get some select beaches on occasion that get sand. But nothing like you guys. Most of the time I use the PI. But it still has to be really good conditions. And finds are getting scarce. Seems even the $8-15 clad hunts are long gone.

Yes ) Ill trade you all the clad in my clad jar and junk jewelry , for that ring , ya got to be kidding , your killing me PS George told me when he got it on shipment it was busted , funny you said he busted it , funny I never noticed it , It was pristeen , and I cleaned it , packed it good before shipping , anyway he told me he had a spare no big deal , strange PS I guess the next time I send a machine out to CA. , I need a 3 forum member inspection sticker PS ill take it back in a heart beat I miss my DF

I'm not 100% certain. George and I were talking. We look down the beach and he is holding a ear cup in his hand. Easy fix though. Wish I would have pulled the trigger on that.

On the D2 front. A few guys have them here. They bought the hype. Bottomline line is this : not user friendly , not a fun machine , doesn't work in our heavy blacksand no matter how you adjust it , the charging of 3 components is ridiculous and that wire for the water is just plain stupid. But it is light to swing..

Just what I figured , the DF & the Excaliburs are the best in the black sand wet here , even on the Equinox , the EMI and some heavy black sand give me problems , glad you shared the info. on the D2 , more forum members to come on here down the road with the negitive side of testing , hunting with the D2 , ya one point about the charging 3 part on the d2 , even my Equinox the charge port 2 nipples in the port , I have scraped the corrosion off several times & you know I hunt very little , I can see this coming on big time , on the coil port , and that wire is a kill shot to me , no go , funny everything you mentioned , I mentioned in the past since the machine come out , TNSS the truth is coming out , no smoking gun , expect more water forum negative feedback , nice post Kob , thanks for sharing ! PS , as far as Compass , George is a good guy , I offered to buy him a new headphone part , he said no biggie , I didn't notice it , he said its ok , he has a spare one , avidently its a part on the DF headphones that breaks over time , I had no clue .

I think "Gent" was a picture book? I remember the magazine rack in the book stores trying to get to the classic truck magazines and there was a line to the right with guys wearing sunglasses and looking over their shoulder. Someone in the car/truck section once said "That's a passer!" and the line to the right thought they said "Pastor" and the line to the right thinned out real quick!

For some reason someone seems to think everyone gets the same results everywhere. From what i received from the yahoo home page the Mystery of oak island was solved with a CTX.

Its a detector made for the gold fields but it does have a salt setting meaning you can use it on the wet sand... I can't see you with your dog tied around you waist going into the water anyway.... I think I saw you mention something about price hoping its in the D2 range or lower... I doubt it.. I think it will be in the 2 to 3 thousand range... look at ML machines how much money they are and if the new Garrett works anything like them and being light and not having to strap a huge battery around ones waist it will be a great machine....
