So I just got Chucks thin carbon shaft for the excal after I've been told by a few that it's definitely easier to move around in the water which at my age sounds like a good thing. One thing I didn't think about which seems to happen a lot is I've got the pinpoint set up on the hand grip and since the handle had a much larger diameter than the CF shaft I'm not sure what I can do. My first though was get a bicycle inner tube and cut a bunch of strips to lay in the handle and tighten that around the thin shaft-and to be honest that was my first and only though lol. Has anyone dealt with this issue? I'm going to give Chuck a call tomorrow and see if he has heard of any solutions. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Joe

I have been using the thinner CF shaft for months and really enjoying it. I am sure you're not the only one with your issue and Chuck has a solution.

I have chucks shaft also, it is way better in the water than the regular size shafts... but the size of the coils still causes drag if you use the 10 inch, I would imagine the 7.5 inch 800 coil is super smooth.
Good Luck on the sizing issue, the trick would be a aluminum blank bored out to the same size as the shaft, with a small pie like shape cut out of the blank so it can be pinched to tighten on the smaller shaft.
My shaft I got from Chuck I did the PP mod to his handle.

your pic shows a push button switch-is that a momentary(hold down to use-let go to return) or a push-push on-off switch. I didn't care for the momentary and went to a toggle switch but I had to use epoxy putty to get it to stay in a notch I cut in the handle. Not very professional looking. I spoke to Chuck and I'm going to send him a switch and see what he can do- he is super accommodating. Stay tuned- meanwhile the excal goes back on the old alum shaft:(

Momentary,......... running all metal, a quick push of the button to check the target (in disc) than let go and back to all metal. I like it for I can single out targets faster. And it is much easier to do the modification for it fits perfectly into the handle, no cutting of the handle to fit the toggle, and very easy repair if needed........ I do still have one excalibur with the toggle. I now use the toggles on my AQ, ... off the battery connection ..to turn the audio off and on. AQ blast over shallow targets.
