Only thing left now is to find a gold coin.

I must start off by thanking my friend Kyle for allowing me to hunt with him on his farm permissions. Without him this would never have been possible.
Going back to the farm from last week we decided to go on the other side of the old road to see what we could find there. I started the day with a clad dime. We pushed on with hopes of finding something good and now I feel great and that I accomplished a feat that many detectorists may never see or find. I get a good repeatable deep signal with my equinox 800. I dig a nice hole about 8 inches down and find it was still in the hole so I break out the pinpointer and find it beeping right in the center where I dug my hole. It was another 2 inches down I believe. I careful dig around the signal with my hand trowel and place the dirt on my pile and you would have thought I dug a piece of dynamite as I jumped back and said to my friend Kyle what the **** is that? Sorry for my potty mouth. 😅 I pick it up and give it to him and he says it's a Reale. I am now super excited and could have pack up my stuff only after hunting for less than two hours. Some time goes by and I get a quiet deep high signal. None of the three guys I hunted with were close by so I yelled after I dug this target again deep at least 10 inches. He tells me it's a Hibernia and we made the date out to 1805 below the harp on the reverse. The front is a little toasted and I may have rubbed it a little harder than I should of out the hole but I was unsure what it was. A short time later I get a dime or silver dime signal two arrows down in depth and I dig up another Reale, this time a half. This thing was only three to four inches down at the most! After that my targets and my energy went down after 4 hours. Walking back to the car to meet the other guys I find a little D buckle. I posted a pick of all my finds this time including my trash (usually I don't) but wanted all to see I do my part in cleaning the ground and not just cherry pick the good signals. A lot of the bigger targets had me fooled as they gave off a non ferous tone along with the iron running all metal, I am still new at this and only starting detecting in the beginning of 2021.

That was a great day. How did your friend do? Hope he found something or your next invite might get lost in the mail?👍

Congratulations! You had quite the day and great finds. A Hibernia is one I have yet to dig.

Great finds there! When you do find a gold coin at that spot, its going to be something special. Good luck!

Congrats on the old silver and other cool finds. Good luck. Mark

Yep........It's all about location. How about a silver dollar, have you found a silver dollar? Congrats on the Spanish coins, and the Hi whatever you call it. Spanish Reale is what I'm still looking for and a gold coin.

Yes a silver dollar would be nice too, I have not found one yet either. Like my buddy said earlier we witnessed a beautiful seated half in very good condition come out the ground. The Reales came out unexpected by me anyways. I hope you find one soon!

Great stuff guys! Having friends who put in the effort that you do when it comes to the “peripheral details” is ULTRA important! Mapping, asking for permission (if that’s what your M.O. is) and just general planning and preparation makes for a good time, and some great finds. It’s when the “lazy” kicks in is when things can go south, so it’s up to everybody to get on some promising ground and be ready!
Here in southern Wisconsin, finding a Seated or a Large cent is a BIG deal, so seeing that Spanish silver popping up over there is pretty cool, and amazing that it’s just there sitting in the same spot for all that time. Fantastic job ferreting those out for the day!
