OAK ISLAND

I think it is pretty evident that man made tunnels existed at some point as demonstrated by the Lagina's drilling operation, ....

I believe that if you study this, you'll see that the notion of "flood tunnel shafts" go all the way back to the earliest tellings of the legend.

Now as to whether or not someone can prove this NOW (in the recent Lagina era, which is not that many years old), I guess I'm going to have to be skeptical of that. Because if, as you say, the "Lagina's drilling operation", then, by mere definition, that's recent. After the place was already turned into swiss cheese by multiple other past heavy-equipment attempts.

So I think that they're simply running into past TH'rs debris.

And as for the show's narration that might *seem* to distance themselves from these mistakes : Well go figure : The show is not going to sell, without a salacious cliff-hanger narratives. I'm not saying they're "lying", but : It's mere inflection of their voices (Eg.: "COULD IT BE ?... , blah blah). And it's not hard to make any funny rock or log to seem-to-be utter proof of tunnels. When if you stop and think about it more, they can just be : Rocks and logs.

The laginas only believe in harvesting advertiser dollars.

Watching the show and seeing the actors doing their best not to crack up on camera is very telling.

As far as man-made tunnels, the only ones proven to exist are the ones made by previous searchers and hoaxers.
They have a War room. Everyone knows when you declare war on something it never works out well.

Swiss cheese filled with saltwater. :walker:

Pete : There's not a spot on the entire east coast colonial seaboard that doesn't also have similar scores of history too. There's not a spot on the east coast where something didn't happen during those times, where a story couldn't be spun in the same fashion. Not a spot along the coast in those states Where you can't find "curious oddities" if you let your imagination run wild enough.
I can believe that Tom...the TV show happens to have brought one particular island off that coast to my attention, and made me curious about it's real history so to speak, not a "history" that is interpreted and presented in terms of the so called "treasure"...

Wow this thread clearly shows many people hate the show and the idea of anyone making money from the show BUT those same people cant resist commenting on EVERY aspect of the show as if they're experts when they are nothing more than keyboard commandos trying to bring others down to their level of unhappiness with life...

Live and let live, stop whining about everything and find a thread or subject that you can talk about WITHOUT being negative all the time

The Charles Island legend is more believable than Oak Island...part of Kidd's treasure was, in fact, recovered on Gardner Island. He allegedly buried chests on several other islands while on his way to Boston to turn himself in to the authorities. You can look for the treasure, but remember, the interior of Charles Island is closed to the public from May 9 to Labor Day due to nesting birds. A detector and a shovel you can get away with out there, but no heavy equipment:laughing: I have done the research on the legend for years, scouted and detected parts of the island in the past, and now have a good idea of where to look for the treasure...if it indeed exists.
He wouldn't have had to turn himself in if Tom was alive back then and they had the internet...

The thread is entitled, "Oak Island" and thus comments are made here regarding the 200+ years of claims of fantastical treasure along with 200+ years of no one producing a single piece of evidence that a treasure ever existed on the island.

Facts:

a) The entire money pit area has been dug to great depths many times by many searchers. Absolutely nothing has been found.

b) No flood tunnels have ever been found, either in the money pit area or Smith's Cove (the alleged source of the flood tunnels).

c) The cryptic "90-foot stone" was produced when one of the searchers was running low on funds. Then when no funds were forthcoming, it ended up being used in a basement wall.

Think about that for a minute......a stone with a code pointing to a treasure that would re-write human history......thrown away and used for building a basement wall.

When the show first came on and I knew little about the legend and I wanted to believe.

However, as the years passed watching the first few seasons of the show along with doing some research, it was easy to see what was actually going on.

Typical commando response, you're right and the rest are wring according toy "your" facts.

Like I said before, if you hate it so much than stop getting yourself into a frenzy by reading this page and just move on without trying to bring the rest of us down to your level

Live and let live....

Grizz... Forums are for discussions and different opinions and they are all welcome here. You are a believer and that is fine, I am not.... I haven't seen one member go into a frenzy on this thread or elsewhere... As far as I am concerned Oak Island is entertainment for the people who watch it, its also about making money and I'm not talking about making money from treasure

Grizz, don't take this wrong, but I just want to point out the irony of this ^ ^ I admit that skeptics can be labeled as "whining" and "negative" and are failing to "live & let live". Ok ? Granted.

But notice the irony that : The finger points both ways. Ie.: NEITHER SIDE is less guilty of these label characterizations. Ie.: The proponents/believers can EQUALLY be said to be negative (to the skeptic's view). And can be accused of "whining" (when skeptics point out shortcomings). And failing to "live & let live" (when they don't like that skeptics chime in).

So I'm not denying all these labels for skeptics. I'm just saying that the labels apply to either side.

If it were not for us naysayers here you'd be talking to yourself Grizz. Now how would THAT look? See how kind we are to help you even if we don't agree. Well that and we have 200 years of history of a treasure NOT being found on our side.:digginahole:

Ah c'mon coin-saver, don't you know what the push-back on THAT ^ ^ is going to be ? Easy : It is *not* that there wasn't a fabulous treasure there. But it's ONLY that it was : "Already found at some time in the past".

Isn't that kind of crazy ? It's like it can NEVER be considered that there's NOT a "fabulous treasure". It was simply already found. Or a little deeper. Or a little more to the right. Or a little more to the left. But at NO POINT is there not a "fabulous treasure".

Skeptics are open minded, you are not

Uhh, you haven't helped with anything, your just running around pushing buttons, being a troll

Like I've said before, if you dont like the show thats cool, but its not a reason to bash others who do enjoy it for whatever reasons. I cant imagine how lifeless/boring your lives must be with nothing better to do, what a shame...

Why not start a new thread about the show (as this thread is about Oak Island)?

That way you can discuss the actor's performances, equipment used, etc.

This thread will then continue discussions about the island.
