Lots of history from those Night Soils Fields! Amazing what fell into those old outhouses as we call them over here.

Doug what is the average soil composition where you hunt? The first pic with the cannon looks to be a red clay type of soil. Reason I ask, is the soil pretty much wet most of the time. That would lend to a clay type soil.

In this part of England we do have red soil.
