Am lucky enough to have a forum member who lives 2 miles from me and has a farm. She had me over to do some detecting and I figured it was a mid 1800's farm. Spent a semi tolerable couple hours with her and dug a few nice targets. I was lucky to find a couple pieces of a shoe buckle, two musket balls and some silver. Lot and lot of iron as you would expect. The top item in the pic has me puzzled. Old can key?

And oh, the fellow forum member showed me a 1723 KG I she dug a week earlier so the place is older than I thought.

Congrats on the silver and relics Steve. Hope thats an open invitation. sounds like a pretty good spot. Good luck. Mark

Nice hunt! Just have the cat smell it, then you'll know whether or not it's an old sardine can:laughing:

Good finds there. The buckle pieces and musket balls are a good sign, plus KG. I'd hit every inch of that place.

Great hunt! That can key is interesting; I don't recall having seen one before. The shoe buckle, musket balls, & silver Roosevelt are nice, as well.

Well done on your finds. I grew up with those key open cans. I really hated it when that little start tab broke off and you had to go find a pair of pliers. :rofl2:
