My strange find of the month...

Was out in a huge HS athletic field this morning and found this about 2 hours in.

Ran it under hot water, nothing harsh.

The requirement for Philadelphia mail carriers to wear badges was discontinued in 1982.

If it came that clean after just a rinse of hot water, then I suspect it's a modern loss. And you confirmed that with your research. It had an "antique look", but : It's a modern loss. Oh well.

I agree with others, very cool find and in great condition. Thats one for the diplay case. I once found a Pittsburgh newsboy pin, The kind they would be on those funny little hats they used to wear. Mine was pretty rough.

Yeah that seems like it should have more patina to it.
