My dryer quit...

Every so often I will have to replace the heating coil in our dryer. It's amazing how many coins find their way to the bottom of the machine.

I had to replace a bearing in my washer. In the water pump filter was a LOT of coins but no pull tabs. I also found our bank debit card. My stupid now X-wife lost and replaced it and never reported it….
Life is so much better now 😀

Neighbor tossed one out down our street so I had to grab it. As I loaded it in the back I heard a rush of coins and a few actually fell out. Picked them up and took it home and started opening it up. Ended up with over $20 in change! Then sold it off as-is for another $20. Free money is free money!

I had to replace the motor on my dryer 1/2 a year or so ago. Granted it's 20 years old, but I try and keep them going. Washer needs a new shaft seal so water doesn't go down it... always something here lately.

At least my Mazda Protege5 started up after replacing the broken timing belt 🤘

Good on you for fixing it.

My washer bearing sounds like a jet engine! But it still works, I run my stuff into the ground. It saves money👍

I have a washer and dryer at my cabin that are 45 years old, work fine and never needed repairs. The Cabrios we have now at our main house need parts yearly. Luckily I can fix them myself.

The pulley on the motor broke, however I recovered lots of coins from inside and two wheaties and pulltabs.
I have a nickel somewhere that went through the dryer. The face of it is polished right off and a little burn mark.

I replaced mine with a $35 Japanese bearing. If I waited too long the drum would have hit the side and destroyed it. That would cost as much as a new washer. BTW they can cost a grand now 😳
