The pulley on the motor broke, however I recovered lots of coins from inside and two wheaties and pulltabs.

My washer bearing sounds like a jet engine! But it still works, I run my stuff into the ground. It saves moneyI had to replace the motor on my dryer 1/2 a year or so ago. Granted it's 20 years old, but I try and keep them going. Washer needs a new shaft seal so water doesn't go down it... always something here lately.
At least my Mazda Protege5 started up after replacing the broken timing belt
Good on you for fixing it.
I have a washer and dryer at my cabin that are 45 years old, work fine and never needed repairs. The Cabrios we have now at our main house need parts yearly. Luckily I can fix them myself.
I have a nickel somewhere that went through the dryer. The face of it is polished right off and a little burn mark. The pulley on the motor broke, however I recovered lots of coins from inside and two wheaties and pulltabs.![]()
I replaced mine with a $35 Japanese bearing. If I waited too long the drum would have hit the side and destroyed it. That would cost as much as a new washer. BTW they can cost a grand nowMy washer bearing sounds like a jet engine! But it still works, I run my stuff into the ground. It saves money![]()
