it is,i take everyone there to show themFind of a lifetime! We'll never see anything like that here in the States. Must be pretty satisfying to see your find on display in a museum.
Ive always said if the country has got 2 or 3 hundred years of history and you find something thats say 100 years old then it would be the same of me digging up something thats say 1000 years old as we got 2000 years of history here.We can't compete with old England finds, MOST excellent find and a worthy resting place for the piece of history. Really well done.
Did they give you any recognition for the find? Sure is everyone's dream find!I found this some years back and it was posted here but long time back. Its pure gold with 21 diamonds set all around it and is from the 1500,s.Today it lives in Salisbury museum which is my local museum.
Well my name is mentioned with the display as the finder.I was not allowed to keep it as it was declared treasure so had to be handed in to the British museum but they do have to pay the finder an amount set by the museum,in this case it was quite a large amount although no where near the amount that it was actually worth but then the way i see it is that i got paid a decent amount for doing something i enjoy doingDid they give you any recognition for the find?
