Sold the Deus II and the "Legend" detectors and just placed my order for a new Minelab Equinox 900.
Are any of the members here using the EQ 900 have experience with the E-Trac and can comment about the difference?
I am hopping it performance of the 900 is on par or better than the E-trac.
Stability in salt water beach sand is important.
The 900 being water proof is a big plus also.
I will miss the graphic scale and dual numbers of the E-trac but am hoping the tones are close to the same.
So many features on the new 900 that I really like.

Were you not happy with the Deus II? There's been mostly solid reports about it recently.

D2 I here is deeper , the change was made to the 99 iD range, maybe a bit better water proofing , that remains to be tested  on the 900 , THE Manticore was the E-trac replacement , that's the machine you should have went for , as you won't see many going from the 600 or 800 , moving towards a 900 , or 700 , your move should have went to the Manticore , or CTX3030 , one thing I don't know , is why ML made four Equinox model's , it's confusing to some , my opinion just to capture the hunter's spending range , and mid range markets , knocking out several compeditors in my opinion , still looking forward to what the other two machines to come are , hoping one is a water proof PI with gold technology within for SALT beach, & water hunting , as ML has focused on the nugget hunter for so long , they can bring us a PI newsflash Minelab , I have money in the bank for that PI , If you break that Pi - beast out :money: , good luck with your 900 , just like my 800 it's still a great machine , Earl

I would assume they are going to stop making the 600 and 800 and just focus on 700 and 900 moving forward.

I can't predict what ML does , 4 Equinox , who knows , the 600 was the bottom of the line , can't see them going for people that don't have alot of money to spend , the 800 was # 1 on killer sales , If I were to bet , all 4 models will stay in the line up at different prices , waiting on the other Manticore coils , as I run the 15 at the beach on my 800 , will kind of know the differences in performance when I get that coil , knowing ML the extras coils , probably 6 months , just like the Equinox coils , for anyone who has a 800 Deanos head covers do fit the Manticore , just a little snug , happy hunting , Earl
