Mine lab Repair question

Good day all!

Two years ago I bit the bullet and added an Nox 800 to my arsenal. I did (and still do) love my AT Pro but wanted to try something a little different.

Long story short. I managed to get about thirty hours on the machine the first season.

Last April my wife and I had a house fire. (Google “Pixley Hill Fire Wellsville”) and lost nearly everything. My Pro and my Nox were in a closet and sustained some water damage, and the Nox had some rather heavy debris fall on the control head.

I hung them up to dry while Inwas deployed to the Middle East for the entire season last year.

Now, with Spring occasionally threatening to show up in Western NY, my ATP is functioning but the Nox is a no go. It charged up but doesn’t want to power up and the case is broken.

The two places I have found for repairs just feel a little seedy when I peruse their websites.

Any suggestions or recommendations from the community???

Thanks in advance

Good digs

Did you contact Minelab? When I had an issue with my E-Trac I sent it back to them. It wasn't there long, and, knock on wood, it hasn't failed me since.

There are no repairs made to the pods. [sorry]
They will offer a new pod with fresh warranty, for a price.

Thank you for your service!

So sorry about the house fire, and then being deployed for a year. What I suggest is to get in touch with Minelab, and tell them what happened and then being deployed to the Middle East. I believe they will do right by you, and get your detector repaired/replaced in short order.

Please let us know how it goes.

Minelab should repair it as long as it's still under warranty. If not, they may offer to sell you a brand new pod, minus the coil, shaft, etc... please keep us updated, and welcome back!

So far they have asked a lot of questions, and all have been answered.

LUCKILY, I bought it from Barts Big Boy Hobbies and he had a receipt out to me in about 90 seconds. (The old one burned in the fire.)

Then..... as I was sending them the receipt of payment, they emailed me to tell me that the damage wasn't covered under warrantee and that I would have to purchase a new pod.

Waiting on their quote for a new pod. Otherwise it will be the old trusted ATP this year.

.......and probably not another Minelab machine in my future.

I agree... if all they will do is sell you something, then spend your money where you get more detector for your money, and most likely better customer service. I'm talking about Nokta Macro Legend.
In fact, I have purchased quite a few Minelab metal detectors over the last 30 years or so, and after watching numerous live hunts comparing signals between Legend and Equinox 900, there has been little to no difference, which is remarkable, given the wide price difference between them.

I was ready to order a new Equinox, but "95% of an Equinox".
Lots more excellent video's HERE
Minelab, over-priced for what it does.
