Hi All,

Never seen anything like this before. Is this a wax stamp or is it something else? I’ve found Lyre military band buttons but this is a first. Found in a field in New Jersey where most items found were early to mid 1800s. I think I see 3 letters ‘P’, ‘A’ and ‘H’ - are these initials of a person?? No clue. Any ideas? Is this even military?

Thats an awesome find! Cant believe the condition after all those years! Congratulation and HH!

That's looks like a neat find! Being an old-fashioned kind of girl, I enjoy writing letters and have a fondness for wax seals. (My sister gave me a personalized wax seal stamp this past Christmas - she knew that I wanted one.)

I did a web search for the letters "P.A.H.," but didn't come up with anything that seemed to fit. But it makes sense that the lettering could represent someone's initials, like you mentioned. Anyway, nice recovery! :clapping:
