Gold fever is a lot like tick-borne diseases. Tough to get rid of.I've got 3 (uh ... yes ... THREE) in CA over my 50 -ish years in this hobby. One at a stage stop here in central coast CA. Another after a beach-storm erosion here in my area. And a third in a southern CA at a colonial era site here. (and no, I don't want to hear about how east coast guys *supposedly* find three in a single day or week, blah blah blah)
But since large cents are *SSEEOOO* boring, why would anyone want to participate in this map exercise ?![]()
But seriously now, you gotta make a map for where gold coins are found . And who-found-them. Tsk tsk .
I'm generally happy and thankful. I could complain but at 65 I've learned it does no good. I think the real question is: Did posting that make you happy now?Happy now?

Bucks county PA 1812Here is a map of some large cents posted by forum members. The map shows icons in the general location of where large cents have been found. If you click on an icon, a pop up window will display a picture of the coin, the date and the "handle" of the forum member that found it. This could be an ongoing project that I will work on until we have an interesting map full of large cent data. If you have a large cent find to contribute to the map then post a picture down below with the county and state that you found it in as well as the date on the coin. (One entry per member please.) Coins with unreadable dates are ok. Below is a link to the map as well as a screenshot incase the link has trouble working. There is one entry that is kind of a joke though.
