Lake find ID

I was thinking part of an oar lock being it was found in a lake. Thoughts? Penny for size comparison

It looks too light to me to be an oar lock? I feel like I’ve seen it before but I just can’t come up with it.

Well all I can say is I don't think it's horse related I looked through the Eilers saddlery hardware catalog. Always fun to look through that, but nothing like the above.

Oar lock will be my guess also. Cool if it is.

I'm thinking a railing mount oar rest. When the oar is in the oar lock, this is attached to the railing, so the oar can safely rest on the gunnel, to keep it from banging around and possibly falling out of the boat. I saw one a long time ago but can't for the life of me remember where. I could also be very wrong too.
