KT had 20 able bodied 64 Kens show up at the Castle Gate today and it put the Royal Castle Guards on full alert for a few minutes....until KT met with these Kens and discovered that they were very able bodied men who just needed something to do. So, since the Castle population has grown so large and is always in great need of food for KT's loyal subjects, His Majesty took these men in, and asked them who amongst you are farmers or have farmer skills. Fully half of them do!
Thus KT assigned each Farmer an assistant from the group and told them they are to receive 20 acres each of the Royal Lands and they are to teach the inexperienced ones how to farm. They will grow vegetables, grapes, berries, and cattle, both for beef and for milk, hogs and chickens for both eggs and meat, and they get to keep 25% of what they grow, and the rest KT will purchase for use by the Castle Residents! They all agreed that this was more than fair.

KT assigned the Castle Carpenter teams to set to work building small housing and cabins on each of the 10 Farms. The new arrivals will start clearing the lands with the able assistance of the Royal Horses and Mules. They may reside within the protection of the Castle Walls until such time as their cabins are finished. Then the farmers talked amongst themselves and requested permission from His Majesty, to work together on each farm site, clearing and improving the land before moving to the next to assist the next group with their farm site. This would allow the Royal Carpenters to complete each farms buildings within a short time. KT marveled at this idea and wondered if they were Mennonites or what. And they answered, we are all relatives and believe we all should do as the Good Book says, to help and love one another as we love ourselves. KT could not have asked for a more pleasant group of men to take on these tasks. They even stated that they had some pooled monies left over from their journey to the Castle and they would pay what they could to the Royal Carpenters for their work! This made the Royal Carpenters and their wives very happy also!

KT ordered a Royal Feast for everyone in the Castle including the new arrivals so that they may be refreshed and ready to go to work tomorrow! Busy life in the Royal Castle.....that is for certain.

A picture of these new arrivals is below! Enjoy!

Verily, thou hast conjured an
engaging tale for us to scan!
Grant that I may therefore extend,
felicitations - to thee, my friend -
and to the people of thy place
who have thus traversed earth's long face,
to reach thine own extensive lands
and plow thy fields and feed thy hands!
I, too, like they, do venerate
the Sacred Writ of which they spake.
I trust the men shall therfore prove
profitable henceforth their move!

Ah, my fair and Royal Princess! You understand well the essence of KT's good will to all in the Kingdom and abroad....for without the aid of such good and willing men, KT's Kingdom would become stagnant. But with their good cheer and willingness to set forth on the tasks ahead of them, we shall all profit in the long run. Giving of one's time and effort in goodly projects will bring cheer to all involved! KT is hoping to find some Royal Matrons who once the farms are established with help with the daily chores and be an encouragement to every farmer and his assistant!:thumbsup::beers:

Glad to see some farmers added to your royal properties. With the way prices are going up, they're sure to save you quite a bit of money!

Yes, Wolf-Dog, with the ever increasing food costs, it had become a concern from some of the Castle's inhabitants.....However for KT, it is just a bit less coming into the Royal Coffers.

Incidentally, today arriving at the Castle Gate were some hoped for Walkers, in fact 10 ladies who were seeking jobs, now that their husbands were deceased and their families grown and moved away. Since it is very difficult for older folks to live alone, having been with families for so long, KT brought these ladies in, introduced them to the 10 farmers to see all their reactions. The Kens were overjoyed as life is not so pleasant when it is all work and no companionship in the evenings but a bunch of apprentice farmers! And the ladies viewed these Kens as their sons, since they are a generation apart. Someone each of them could fuss over, prepare food for and hold conversations with, exactly what each needed of the other! The ladies were amazed to find that they were to be part of new households and were very excited to be part of a new community. Life experiences are very important, especially when these men are going to need the added experiences of these older ladies. Presently they are all living within the Castle walls while the men are clearing the land and the Royal Carpenters are starting to build the first farm house. The Walkers are excited to have arrived in time to get their input into the design of each farmhouse also!

Here is a group picture of the ladies upon their arrival! Not CRH 01 20 2023 10 WWII Walkers.JPG
