KT had 20 able bodied 64 Kens show up at the Castle Gate today and it put the Royal Castle Guards on full alert for a few minutes....until KT met with these Kens and discovered that they were very able bodied men who just needed something to do. So, since the Castle population has grown so large and is always in great need of food for KT's loyal subjects, His Majesty took these men in, and asked them who amongst you are farmers or have farmer skills. Fully half of them do!
Thus KT assigned each Farmer an assistant from the group and told them they are to receive 20 acres each of the Royal Lands and they are to teach the inexperienced ones how to farm. They will grow vegetables, grapes, berries, and cattle, both for beef and for milk, hogs and chickens for both eggs and meat, and they get to keep 25% of what they grow, and the rest KT will purchase for use by the Castle Residents! They all agreed that this was more than fair.
KT assigned the Castle Carpenter teams to set to work building small housing and cabins on each of the 10 Farms. The new arrivals will start clearing the lands with the able assistance of the Royal Horses and Mules. They may reside within the protection of the Castle Walls until such time as their cabins are finished. Then the farmers talked amongst themselves and requested permission from His Majesty, to work together on each farm site, clearing and improving the land before moving to the next to assist the next group with their farm site. This would allow the Royal Carpenters to complete each farms buildings within a short time. KT marveled at this idea and wondered if they were Mennonites or what. And they answered, we are all relatives and believe we all should do as the Good Book says, to help and love one another as we love ourselves. KT could not have asked for a more pleasant group of men to take on these tasks. They even stated that they had some pooled monies left over from their journey to the Castle and they would pay what they could to the Royal Carpenters for their work! This made the Royal Carpenters and their wives very happy also!
KT ordered a Royal Feast for everyone in the Castle including the new arrivals so that they may be refreshed and ready to go to work tomorrow! Busy life in the Royal Castle.....that is for certain.
A picture of these new arrivals is below! Enjoy!
