Good morning all

Went metal detecting on wednesday and came back home with 3 coins from German occupation 1939-1945. They are made from iron and are completely rusted.

Is there any safe way of cleaning that rust? Or in general is there any way to make coins look better? Or is it just a lost case ?

Thanks for help
Lukas

They look pretty well toasted.Probabley not much you will be able to do with them.maybe try electrolysis, it might do something. Good luck.

Thanks a lot,
What do you think about rust remover?
I've used it. I've used Rustoleum gel and some other one, I can't remember. It will take the rust off and stop it doing more damage. I've seen it dissolve the big blobs of rust on the iron middle part of brass buckles. After 20–30 minutes, gently swab them. Not going to fix the pitting, but they won't get worse.
