KT went out at 11 am to have lunch and found that several of his normal restuarants were closed due to the potential for a predicted ice storm. KT found His Royal Personage in a Japanese Habachi and Sushi House called Sumo, in the community of Bryant. The food was good and the meal pleasant, but when His Majesty was ready to leave, He discovered it was sleeting heavily and the roads were already slushy at 12:15 pm, so off to the local Supermarket for the Queen, and after arriving home and parking under the Royal Carport, KT spent a bit of time cleaning the ice from the Royal Coach's windows. At least now, when KT is ready to go again, that will not have to be done! HA HA KT went to check the Royal Rain Gauge and discovered it was frozen solid at 2.75 inches, so it was brought into the Castle and set in the Royal Kitchen Sink to thaw out...HA HA.

We are just at the beginning of what the local weatherman is saying is will continue until late Thursday, and it is already a mess to drive on! KT took a picture, posted below, of the Coach in its Royal Carport, from one of the windows of the Castle, just before dark. So the true winter weather begins now in Central Arkansas. Prince John did assist KT with reloading one of the wood racks and placing a garden cart of wood right next to the Dungeon door to the Castle....closest door to the Royal Wood Heater. It has been being fed continuously now for 3 days and nights, keeping the Dungeon Workers busy! This evening the Royal Kitchen served up a huge pot of homemade beef vegetable soup for the Castle dwellers and the Royal Guards, and they broke out their true winter clothing to stay warm in this foul weather! They remind Ol' KT of Ralphie's younger brother in Christmas Story, being dressed to go to school with his arms sticking out to his sides, unable to bend them!

Looks like your royal coach is appreciating it's covering! Stay warm, KT, it's been -20°F in lately here, with a good 12-16 inches of snow covering everything. I think Vlad has more snow in SD though. :lotsasnow: :lotsasnow:

Here's hoping your highness will stay warm and safe. in the ramparts of the castle. The scourge of the dreaded frost giants is upon you sire and take heart, your local weather knights are as we speak doing battle on your behalf and I strongly believe they will be victorious.

The first go round here was a minor problem, but the freezing rain predicted for this evening, if it arrives, will be very bad for most. Our ArDot has spread most of its saline solution and rock salt in prep for the first one, and now it will only be sand when this one hits. KT’s favorite restaurants are all closed today, so no going out to eat lunch. Fortunately, there is plenty of leftover soup in the Royal Kitchen! Ha ha.

Sounds like you are settled in to weather the storm just fine. Hope it doesn't bring down too many branches. My folks up in NH had a branch drop on their power line a week or so ago but the power company got them back up and running pretty quick. Good thing is I left them about 2 cords of wood in the fall that I split last summer so they are staying warm. Note to self, don't cut any more beech this coming summer, pain to split...

Glad you got that car port KT! Also glad you’re in your castle safe and sound and warm!
Royal Thanks for your comment, GroundSweeper! Last night was supposed to be the worst of it and usually when the Royal Realm has a ice storm, the power goes out and havoc breaks loose, especially on the roadways. But when KT ventured out to the Royal Mailbox this morning at 10 am, certainly there was some ice on the trees, bushes, grass, and other vegetation, but even tho the roadway was wet, it was not icy! So, we were spared the worst of it here! And KT's favorite BBQ restaurant is open, so He will soon be off in the Royal Carriage to feast on a half a smoked chicken for lunch! :eat::eat2:

Thanks zeemang for your comment! Well, the ice storm that the weathermen were howling about, came and went like a lamb, not much problems here in Central Arkansas and to KT's knowledge no power outages in the Royal Realm! KT is about to be off for a Royal Feast at his Favorite BBQ Restaurant....a half a smoked chicken sounds mighty good to KT right now!

It doesn't snow in Egypt,King Tut?
It doesn’t snow often in central Arkansas either!:laughing: But we tend to have freezing rain or sleet more often, and folks think if they have 4WD they can go anywhere, but most often they go….right into the ditch! That jams up the roads for those who have to work through the weather. When KT worked, He was considered an essential worker, and therefore no matter what the weather he had to go to the office, but got to wait if necessary until 10 am with no use of annual leave. KT enjoyed it as there were never any customers to worry with.:D
