There is a natural fast flowing spring near the town of Glenny and Hale Michigan. These have some of the coldest purest spring water I've ever tasted. When I was around 13 I came up north with my best friend's family and we stopped along the road at a turn off. There was a rope and pulley you could lower down the hill which was a long way to the bottom and attached to this rope was a small bucket you could lower into the spring, haul it back up and pour the water into your glass, mug, whatever you drank from. That was my first time drinking from this spring and sadly that rig has long sense gone away. Now you have to walk down to the bottom of the high banks and the stairway is daunting. 300 steps down, 300 to return. Even at 76 it was worth the effort. We go there and to the Lumberman's Monument every couple years. If ya'll get up North here on the East side of the mitten and you're not afraid of some stairs stop in. It's pretty cool.
Ok why are my pics showing up sideways??

Had to stop on the way back up once, probably at the 150 step mark.
