Found on an old farm site. Last resident purchased in 1926. Not near any known battle. But, there were union civil war troops stationed long term in Beckley. 12 miles away. They foraged widely and one of the main routes to New River was along Glade Creek where this was found. They marched several times to battles. So in this same area I found farm tools and a C&O RY lock
This item weighs approx 5.25 poinds
5 1/2 inches long 3-3 1/2 diameter
Hollow, holds close to cup of water. What are your thoughts.

Reading up on it "rare" and "highly prized" are some descriptions. Definitely an interesting piece of ordnance and a nice find!
