I have submitted recommendation for update Deus 2 V4.1 - Increase font size lowest bin of tones screen

The display/menu on the Deus 2 could definitely use some improvements IMHO. I see lots of areas where the space could be used more efficiently.

Here's another example:
If a user has chose to use the "big numbers" mode, when a target is detected, it automatically switches from the main detect screen to another screen that only shows the large numbers with a different version of the horseshoe ferrous/non-ferrous meter. Well, that means the target ID box on the regular detect screen is no longer needed. If the big numbers mode is selected, why not get rid of the useless numbers on the main detect screen and use that space to increase the size of other items or to include some other useful info? That's a very large area on the main screen which could be used for something else.

You know I was thinking about what else could be improved when I was uploading the video. What else can be done screen wise to improve.
You’re one of the sharper ones Rattlehead. This I am sure of.
I may submit some more recommendations.
Anyone else here wants give input I’ll look at.

It’s sorta hard to come to quick conclusions sometimes when I don’t know what screen(s) would be used more to do whatever. I found 1 thing though.

I'll have to go through the menus later to look at other areas, but now that I think about it, the horseshoe on the main detect screen could also be eliminated when using the big numbers mode. After all, the detector will instantly switch to the other screen when a target is detected, so both the Target ID and horseshoe on the main screen is absolutely useless. That's a massive amount of space that could be used for other things. I think a lot of people use the big numbers mode exclusively too. I know I do.

Main reason a lot of us old farts don't use the deus ll much any more is the visuals. I have to leave my glasses in the car beach hunting. Manticore I can see. Who i hunt with kills it with a deus ll. But they can see close up. Hunt a while back I had the deus ll for a backup and my manticore didn't charge. Rough being rusty on the deus ll. Now I just bring my other manticore as a back up. Was hoping for a deus 3 like the manticore replaced my ctx. Other than who I hunt with I haven't seen another deus ll in two years on the beach. I think it would increase their sales.

I agree. I think XP could learn a thing or two from Minelab on both the display and menu navigation. Matter of fact, I think pretty much all other detector manufacturers could take a lesson from Minelab. They nailed it with the Manticore.

The only thing I don't like about the Deus 2 is the menu system. I feel the displays are poor compared to what technology can do these days.

the irony is the fantastic electronic components and an 8 bit black and white display is so 1980's. step it up. who know, maybe have a color, touch screen display in the future?
