Copper sings while gold simply murmurs...
They just don't make men like they used to, these days soft and fluffy easily offended...There ya go hurting my feelings and making me sad again.
It was fun, but I paid the price the next day. Even us young kids can over do it I suppose.![]()

I cut all my accounts yesterday, we aren't talking quarter acre half acre, half are 2 acres each and did all the trimming some of them I had to cut twice because between the heat and them fertilzing and all that rain we had last week they growing fast. Then I got home took dog out and made dinner. And I am older than you Bear guy lol...
I've always wondered what happens when some of the buttercups we have today get "offended". Do they bleed or get cuts in their skin, are they doubled over in pain, do they need to get to the ER. Nope, none of that, they'll survive being "offended" without a scratch and hopefully they'll toughen up mentally, so they can brush off the next "offense" like a knat buzzing their head. They just don't make men like they used to, these days soft and fluffy easily offended...

Both ways in bare feet? He had feet?Oh Geesh. I suppose you had to walk to school up hill both ways barefooted in the winter too. Right!?![]()
Bear, I metal detect only in the winter, when I plowed my windows were open, when I did commercial lobstering and it was 14 degrees, boat had to break thru the ice to get out in the sound, cold isn't an issue although since I had frostbite on my hands I do wear extra protection when I detect. It was so cold the day I got frostbite and gold rings it was also 14 degrees water temp was 31 and wind howling out of NW at 35. When I took a scoop before it got to surface it was already forming slush .. I don't hunt fresh drop beaches those are for you, Earl always wants eye candy you won't see any where I hunt unless you get excited seeing seagulls...Oh Geesh. The wheel hadn't been invented yet when you were a young boy so it must have been rough!
And I'll have you know that after I swung that 11" coil all day, I had a blister on my soft delicate hand and blisters between my fragile toes from my flip flops! It was horrible I tell ya! It was a scene NOT for the faint of heart!
We finally got some rain this weekend and it brought my lawn (2 acres) back with a vengeance. I couldn't mow till last evening and it was already too late. Now I have 3 areas that have gobs of cut grass so I get to go home tonight and get it all raked up before it kills the grass beneath. I was too lazy last night to do it. Plus my blistered patty needed more time to heal.
Oh...And unless your cooking dinner involved meat over flames on the grill, then you just lost 10 points off your man card ya old fart.

I don't detect in the winter because it gets waaaay too cold down here for my delicate hands and toes. Sometimes it gets 40 deg down here!!!Bear, I metal detect only in the winter, when I plowed my windows were open, when I did commercial lobstering and it was 14 degrees, boat had to break thru the ice to get out in the sound, cold isn't an issue although since I had frostbite on my hands I do wear extra protection when I detect. I remember fishing the spring ESLO derby up on lake Ontario and had to chew the ice off our lines several times just to get our rigs in. We hit some rough seas during those derby's. One time a rouge wave hit us and dropped our 24' cuddy cabin down on top of our down rigger cables and got them spun up into the prop. It was snowing out and my brother had to strip down to his underwear and dive under the boat and untwist all the steel cable from around the prop. Our day was over after that disaster but we went right back out at 4 am the next morning. When I took a scoop before it got to surface it was already forming slush ..
IDK man.... I've seen some pretty sexy tail feathers on them seagulls before.I don't hunt fresh drop beaches those are for you, Earl always wants eye candy you won't see any where I hunt unless you get excited seeing seagulls...

Buy a set of mulching blades, I don't even have to clean up leaves for a few of my customers my blades vaporize the leaves, it a couple passes but it does great. some of my lawns yesterday grass was 6 to 9 inches long no klunkers at all.

But a bear? They don't want to offend you. They just want to rip you to shreds so they can dine on your liver and other tasty bits. I'll take someone trying to "offend" me over a bear wanting to rip me to pieces any day, lol.![]()
Let me state this first upfront, because I know you'll come back with how what you cut is different than what I cut, and I totally agree. I KNOW my lawns aren't the same as what you cut, but that electric mower I bought to cut our little postage stamped sized townhome lawns has a mulching blade, and I love it.Buy a set of mulching blades, I don't even have to clean up leaves for a few of my customers my blades vaporize the leaves, it a couple passes but it does great. some of my lawns yesterday grass was 6 to 9 inches long no klunkers at all.
Ya know, when our youth are treated like that, they're getting set up to have a really hard & difficult time getting through the rest of their lives. I've never worked for a company, whether small or a large corporation, that had crying rooms set aside for those employees that needed to get in touch with their feelings. Of course, I worked on the East coast, not West where some of the largest corporations on earth baby their employees. They get special "Safe spaces" where they can feel comfy and safe from all the evil people they are surrounded by. Groups of them can congregate, express themselves, and find relief from discrimination, judgment, or stress without fear of harassment.
According to one Gallup survey, 87% of collage students want these little snowflake comfy zones in all collages and universities.
Who needs critical thinking skills. Right!

You reminded me of when I was a young Airman up in Alaska. When I had 1 or 2 stripes, during winter, I'd be ordered to take the snowplow down to one of our bomb igloos and clear about 2 - 3 feet of snow from the concrete pad in front, so that we could open the bomb doors to conduct an inspection. Didn't matter if it was -40 or -50 degrees below zero, I'd put on my moon boots, mittens and parka, zipping the parka up so high that the fur lining around the hood formed a "periscope" that I could see out of while my face was protected from the cold by the hood. But the day I got my 3rd stripe was glorious, because from that day on, I could order Airmen with 1 or 2 stripes to go blow snow, while I stayed inside sucking down coffee, lol. Ahh, yeah, good times.Bear, I metal detect only in the winter, when I plowed my windows were open, when I did commercial lobstering and it was 14 degrees, boat had to break thru the ice to get out in the sound, cold isn't an issue although since I had frostbite on my hands I do wear extra protection when I detect.
