I am sure nobody wants to see that even I do not. Lol

Not quite ready to eat at 4pm my GF and Son went to our neighbors to play so I got the ok to go hunt for a little bit before I fired up the charcoal grill. A little bit was less than a hour after I found my first Buff-alo nickel in great condition. A 1937 with totally readable date, somebody dropped this early on. I am so happy that my first came out in this condition. It rang up a solid 25 VDI on my Manticore and it was not deep so I said the heck let me dig it. 2 to 3 inches down as the top of the hole only came up to the button on my Garrett carrot. This came from my honey hole that keeps on giving. It came come loose dry soil and how you see it in the pics is how it came out. I didn't have to brush it or anything.

You may notice two holes in the last pic. It came from the top hole. I am running a transmitter with my Manticore so I can use my earbuds that I previously used with my Equinox so I am still getting use to the little bit of lag.

I also found this suspender clip??? It is very fragile and a piece of it broke but is hanging on by the other side.

Congrats on your first buffalo, the first of many more to come! Seldom are they found with a legible date. The Manti is a killer for finding nickels.
Thank you John! Before today I was using a lot of discrimination. Today I did not run any and went after good repeatable signals!

Hey AJ, take a closer look at the reverse, looks like there's a mint mark on it. Nice digs!
Thank you! I wish it were a 3 legged buffalo that would have been awesome! The mint Mark would have been right below the five and cent in the middle of the two words. Happy hunting my friend.

I hate you! LOL j/k! Wow, I don't think you could find a Buffalo with more definition than that unless it were burried in sand in the desert! Congrats on your first, and maybe you'll get lucky and find a 3-legged one!

Lol Thank you??? I am very happy with how it came out. I don't know if it came from what some people call sugar sand or whether all the ants played a role. Almost every hole I dig I find ant colonies with larvae.

No better way to spend a holiday than "in the buff", LOL. And by the way, "the buff" has eluded me so far this year. I guess it just needs to warm up some more!

Funny you mentioned ants. I was digging a few days ago and ended up with a bunch of little black ants on my leg; they were stinging me. The whole area had little ant hills. At least it wasn't the red ones!

I couldn't think of a better title. Lol it is warming up here in NJ, possibly first 90* degree day of the year. I will be on the house keeping cool.
Good luck to you, you will find one soon!

Yeah the whole place is invested. I tried my best to find my targets with just my shovel before I went in with my trowel and pinpointer. No fireants around where I live and glad I have not encountered any "cow killers" ( the red and black furry wasps that look like giant ants ).
